Haagsche Plateelfabriek Rozenburg N.V.
(1883-1916)
Founded by W. Wolff (Freiherr) von Gudenberg, who had been educated as a painter
of plateel at the Porceleyne Fles in Delft. In
the beginning the factory produced mostly Delft blue style items. In 1883
Colenbrander,
an important Nieuwe Kunst protagonist, took over the
artistic leadership of the factory, and he introduced a totally new (abstract)
style at Rozenburg. Later (in 1899) Jurriaan Kok introduced the famous eggshell
porcelain. Designs for the paint work were by Jurriaan Kok and produced by
(amongst others) Sam
Schellink and R. Sterken. |

Sources are unclear about the when Potterij Zaalberg started exactly, but

marked sometimes with, sometimes without the icon of the oven - see mark 3 and
4).
