The Wildenhain couple.
Franz Rudolf Wildenhain / Franz Wildenhain (1905-1980) and his wife:
Marguerite Wildenhain - Friedlander / Friedlaender (1896-1985)
Potters. Marguerite Wildenhain studied in the nineteen twenties at the Bauhaus
under Marcks and Krehan. Fleeing for the German suppression the Wildenhain
couple moved to the Netherlands in 1933 where they established a pottery in the
Dutch town of Putten (" 't
Kruikje "). In this pottery they turned earthenware vessels, vases etc from 1933 until 1940.
Marguerite Wildenhain - Friedlander also designed a number of earthenware
products in 1936 for De Sphinx.
In 1940 Marguerite Wilenhain goes to the USA where she is joined in 1947 by her
husband. They will there start the "Pond Farm Pottery" (Guerneville -
